Dragonfire

I read that in India, people burn an effigy of an old man at 12 midnight to signify the ‘burning of the past’ and the fresh start of the new year. so i felt wanting to burn something too haha (consider it’s also the Year of the Dragon in the Chinese calendar). i started writing down my share of regrets (chos), sayang moments and crazy mistakes that made me say buanga, “why did i do that” etc. after 20 years of existence (and counting), i noticed that probably some of the things that tie people back to the past and make them feel ungrateful for the present are regrets and a gazillion ‘what-ifs’.

It’s not that the past year doesn’t count anymore. Choices were made and you must respect them, since these were what you wanted in the first place. This year, it’s time to burn down past regrets and mistakes and start living with passion as if your heart’s on fire.

Cheers to a new and better year!! Happy 2012 guys!!:)
